Akahu: Enabling a new or missing account

How to enable a new or missing bank account to your PocketSmith once you already have an Akahu connection.

If you didn't enable all accounts at Akahu during your first authorisation, or if you have since opened a new bank account, you will need to allow Akahu to connect to these accounts, before you can add them to your PocketSmith account.

In this guide, we provide instructions for enabling more accounts with Akahu.

Once you’ve completed the initial process of sharing those accounts, you can then link them in PocketSmith, to start importing new transactions.

Sharing a new account to an existing Akahu Open Banking feed

  1. Head to the Feeds (Manage > Feeds) page.
  1. Select the Authorize tab of the feed, then select Authorize (or Reauthorize).

Note: ANZ bank-specific information

For ANZ, secondary cardholders cannot share credit card account data via open banking, even if they can view the account in their ANZ app. If you are the primary account holder, follow the steps above, if you are the secondary account holder, then you need to follow the guide - Akahu: Adding more credentials to a feed.

You must be 18 or older to share your accounts via the ANZ open banking feed.

For ANZ business accounts (excluding business credit cards) & trust accounts, you'll first need to link them to your personal banking login. To do that, please follow the steps in this guide: Setting up ANZ Customer Select for open banking access. If you have any issues during the set up ANZ Customer Select, please reach out to ANZ directly for help on: 0800 269 249.

      Note

If the account you're looking for isn't listed here, then it may be that you need to add a different set of credentials to gather the account, for example, if it's your partner's account that you're trying to access. If this is the case, follow the guide here to add a second set of credentials

  1. Once you're back in PocketSmith and the Connection is synced, those accounts will appear within the Unlinked Accounts section on the Connection, ready to link up!
    1. If you are enabling a new account that doesn't have a corresponding offline account in PocketSmith yet, you'll follow slightly different steps from re-linking an account that has already been set up in PocketSmith in the past.
