The transaction search: Search criteria

This guide is for the new transaction search.

If you don't see this search within your PocketSmith app,  then you are using the legacy transactions search. To learn about the legacy search, head to this guide:  Using the legacy transaction search.

If you would like to change to the new transactions search, you can do so from User preferences > Your details and options

Transaction date options

Use the Date search options to quickly show transactions between specific points in time, before or after particular dates, or on specific dates:

Transaction amount options

Search for transactions by specific amounts:

Note

The amount in the search is the absolute value and ignores any +/- signs.

If you want to only search income or expense transactions, utilise the Transaction type criteria and set this to "Income only" or "Expense only".

The example below shows a search for transactions that equal $200.

To only show expense transactions that equal $200, I select the Expenses option from the advanced criteria options:

Using the categories search

  1. Search for a parent or sub-category you are looking for
  1. Tick Include sub-categories if you would like the findings to include transactions assigned to these to show
  1. Add any additional criteria, such as a date range or an account, to refine your search even further

Search by specific accounts

  1. Select the account you would like to view
  1. Add any additional criteria, such as a date range or a category, to refine your search even further

Search for transactions with or without merchant keywords

  1. Enter the word in the Merchant keywords search
  1. Select either the contains or does NOT contain option depending on what you are after:

Note

Searching keywords is case-insensitive.


Searching for labels

Search for transactions that have been labelled with one or more specific labels.

  1. Select or search for the label
  1. Apply Any, All or None to refine your transaction search results further
